1) Your GPS Unit must be one of the following supported GPS Units:
- Brunton
- Eagle
- Garmin
- Lowrance
- Magellan
- MLR

2) A GPS based chartplotting program that accepts data in .gpx format. If you do not already have a PC based chartplotting program you can download EasyGPS for free or ExpertGPS for $59.95. EasyGPS will show the waypoints on a white screen on your PC. You will have the ability to transfer waypoints between the PC and your GPS, which also means that you will be able to back up (onto your PC) all of your waypoint and track data that you have on your GPS. ExpertGPS does everything that EasyGPS does, and more. Plus, you have the ability to download maps and view your waypoints on a map instead of on a white screen.
Whatever PC software you use, whether from your GPS manufacturer, EasyGPS, ExpertGPS or another software provider be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for downloading and transferring the data provided by GotWaypoints.com. Whatever software you use, please see their help contents first if you have a problem with the download or transfer of data. The data being provided by GotWaypoints.com is just data. It is the software program that moves the data around, not the data by itself. EasyGPS and ExpertGPS have excellent tutorials and Help programs that will guide you through configuring your GPS and making the software work with your GPS.
3) PC to GPS connection. You must have a way to connect your two pieces of hardware to transfer the data.
